I am looking for family connections to a Sgt James Page from the Lee Brockhurst area. His father's name was also James Page and mother's name Eleanor ?
I would be very interested if there are any PAGES related and still living in the area.

I am not sure to be honest (long story) according to burial record he was 84 years old when he died so that would make his year of birth 1747. He had a brother who died 1745 at the age of 1 so I guess he was named after him. His father's name was James as well and I think he was born in Shropshire around 1706.

I have seen the burial record and he died in Abererch, Pwllheli, North Wales, at the age of 84 in 1831 giving us a birth year of 1747ish. There is a record in Shropshire for a James Page (1744-1745) and I am thinking he might have been named after the death of his brother? He served in the Caernarvonshire Militia and I have seen his discharge papers but according to that he was 61 years old in 1799 which would make him 93 years old in 1831, confusing? His father's name was James also and I have seen a couple of James Pages born in Shropshire in 1706 and 1711 but can't make any connection between them.

Hi Kevin, I've tried to find some evidence of the James Page you say you are looking for. Like you I could only find a birth & a death for the same James Page that you had found.
However I've found a possible marriage for his parents but the first name of the groom is missing!
But I did find possible birth's for an Eleanor.
I've also seen the military record for the James Page who you think is yours from 1799 where it states place of birth Shrewsbury or near to. But it states his birth Parish was St, Gillian's and I think that should read St.Julians which is a parish in Shrewsbury & not Lee Brockhurst.
So I would like to know why you think this particuler James Page is the one you've been looking for?

First of all thank you for your hard work, I really appreciate your time, the main reason I think it is the James Page we are looking for is we knew he was a sergeant in the army, we knew he was a shoemaker like his father and son and we knew he was from the Shropshire area. Of course we are not 100% but I am a good 90% I would say. My next task is to try and find if he had any brothers and sisters I am sure he had. Any more advice from you would be very welcomed.
I have checked the baptism of Elinor Fardoe, sadly she died at the age of 1.

Hi Kevin, There is not much info online for many James Page's found in Shropshire in the 1700's. I have found a possible marriage for a James Page.
But I think it was too early to be the lineage you are looking for. But better news is that James jnr Page perhaps married again in Abererch, Caernarvonshire.
There is evidence that he may have had two son's John Page Baptised in 1800. And Evan Page buried in 1830 Both of these events have the same abode has the James page who you claim is yours. So looking more closley at the abode of the death of James in 1831 it does look like Carreg Y Gart(h).
